
Mick, president of Financial Plans & Strategies, Inc., graduated from the University of Notre Dame in 1973 with a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration. He graduated from Indiana University's Robert H McKinney School of Law and was admitted to the Indiana Bar in 1980. Mick has retired from practicing law but as a Certified Financial PlanningTM professional, he still reviews estate plans for our clients. Mick received his Certified Financial PlannerTM designation in 1981. He has provided financial planning services since 1973, has extensive experience in retirement planning and estate planning and has received his Professional Plan Consultant® designation.
Mick has served in various leadership capacities in the financial industry, including Education Director, President and Chairman of the Central Indiana Society of Certified Financial Planners. He writes on financial matters; he has been published in the Indianapolis Business Journal and quoted in both the Indianapolis Star and Investment News. Mick also loves speaking to adults and youth on the subject of financial planning.
Individuals certified by CFP® Board have taken the step to demonstrate their professionalism by voluntarily submitting to the CFP® certification process that includes thorough education, examination, experience and ethical requirements. The CFP® is issued by the Certified Financial Planner Board of Standards, Inc. Prerequisites require a designee to hold a Bachelor's degree (or higher) from an accredited college or university as well as three years of full-time personal financial planning experience. In addition, candidates must complete a CFP-board registered program (or hold an accepted designation, degree or license) and take the CFP Certification examination. To maintain certification, the designee is required to complete 30 hours of continuing education every two years and continue to agree to be bound by the Standards of Professional Conduct.
