Indiana 529 Tax Credit Deadline (formerly known as College Choice):
Indiana taxpayers who invest in the Indiana 529 Direct Savings Plan have until April 15, 2026, to make their contributions for the 2025 tax year.
*While you have time to make these contributions, it may be in your best interest to contribute earlier in the calendar year so that these funds have more time to grow tax free in the 529 savings plan.

Please be mindful of processing times if you need to add or link a new bank. These processes often require signed paper forms and we don’t want to miss the deadline due to mailing and processing times. For these purposes we recommend calling by April 1, 2026 at the latest.

To contribute ONLINE:
Go to: https://www.indiana529direct.com/(you can click on that hyper link to take you to the website)
Login into your account. If you have never logged in, you simply sign up for online access by clicking Login then Sign up for online access
Once logged in you can:
o Make a contribution from your bank account already linked.
o Link a new bank account.
o Replace existing bank account linked
o Request a distribution
o Change your address or contact information
o Download statements for your taxes
To contribute BY PHONE:
You may call Indiana 529 Direct to make the contribution at 1-866-485-9415.
You will need to have your account number at hand.
We suggest doing so no later than April 7th, 2026 to avoid complications with processing.
For those who would like to establish a NEW Indiana 529 Direct Savings Plan

· ThenClick: Enroll Now (top right corner) and follow the steps to open the account and link your bank to make the contribution
We suggest doing so no later than March 10, 2026, to allow time for the account to be established and bank linked for contributions.
!!! Note: if you would like our office to be named as an authorized agent on the account and receive statements; please notify our office once you have opened the account.

Other Information:
- The maximum annual Indiana state tax credit for 2025 is 20% per household. On a $7,500 investment, this results in a $1,500 tax credit on your Indiana state return. The maximum tax credit for these contributions for the state of Indiana is currently $1,500. This means that if your annual contribution exceeds $7,500 per household, you can only claim a $1,500 credit.
- If you are not an Indiana resident or do not owe income taxes in the state of Indiana, it may not benefit your taxes to make a contribution to the IN 529 Plan.
